Why is the petra Coffee Pad Automat always safe?
The technology of our Coffee Pad Machines is precision oriented and also very safe. We use high quality and safe stainless steel boilers. All our boilers are equipped with protection temperature fuses in both flow paths. The size of our boiler hot water output, allows for less calcium deposit forming when compared to some of our competitors. The cold water input is designed so that any obstruction of calcium deposits is unlikely. All of petra boilers used in our production are made of high quality stainless steel. Under normal conditions and proper use our boilers cannot burst.

How many safety levels do petra pad machines have?
The first safety level is the electronic temperature control system. The second level of safety is guaranteed by a double protection fuse. The fuse interrupts the power supply immediately in the unlikely case of malfunctioning of the electronic temperature control system.

Why are there no hot water leakages possible from the brewing chamber?
All of petra Coffee Pad Automats have a brew chamber lock with safety interlock. In the open brewing unit (without inserted Pad holder) there is no uncontrolled water leakage possible.

Is petra Coffee Pad machine safe even in the case of short-circuiting?
All of petra Coffee Pad Automats water boilers are fitted with two independently-acting protection temperature limit fuses. Even in the event of a failure of the electronic system that causes for example a short circuit by overload, the safety risk is non existent even with extreme calcification.

How do we know when the petra Coffee Pad machines need to be decalcified?
The petra Coffee Pad Automat series KM42 and KM45 are equipped with a display warning for decalcification. It shows when decalcifying is needed depending on water hardness. The Coffee Pad Automat decalcification program is realized by specially tuned software for this purpose. For all Pad machines without decalcification programs we recommend to decalcify at least every 3 months. petra-electric encourages the use of the highly effective descaling agent Durgol for all Coffee Pad Automats that need to be decalcified. This descaling product strongly recommended by petra-electric can be found in most shops or at our petra-electric factory outlet.
